Delete your MÜSMART account

At MÜSMART (operated by OC Music S.A.S.) we respect your right to control your personal information. This page explains how to delete your account and associated data, in compliance with Google Play policies, GDPR, and Colombia's Law 1581 of 2012.

How to request deletion

Account deletion is currently handled manually via email. Send a message to:

In your email, include:

  • The email or phone number associated with your account.
  • Your name or stage name (if applicable).
  • Subject: "MÜSMART account deletion request".

To verify your identity, we may ask you to reply from the email registered to the account or provide additional control information. This prevents unauthorized deletions.

Response time: up to 15 business days. In most cases we resolve within 24-48 hours.

Data that gets deleted

When you confirm deletion, we permanently remove:

  • Your profile: name, email, phone, photo, bio, genres, social links, stage name (if you are an artist).
  • Your personal playlists and the tracks you added to each one.
  • Your likes and reactions.
  • Your comments on other artists' tracks.
  • Your listening history and activity data linked to your identity.
  • Your coin balance (MusmartCoins) and mission progress.
  • Your push notification tokens (FCM tokens).
  • Your approved artist uploads (the tracks you uploaded as an artist). Important: if your music is already published in the catalog and other users saved it to their playlists, we may retain an anonymous copy only so their playlists do not have empty slots. That copy will not be linked to your identity.
  • Any uploads pending approval in the review queue.

Data we may retain

For legal and accounting obligations, or because they are already anonymized, we may retain:

  • Aggregated and anonymized telemetry: global statistics (e.g., "the reggaeton genre had 1,234 plays this week") with no link to your account. This data cannot identify you.
  • Security audit logs: access attempts, detected fraud, reported abuse — retained up to 12 months for platform protection.
  • Accounting or legal records: if you completed a transaction (purchase, withdrawal, payment), Colombian tax law requires us to retain receipts for up to 5 years.
  • Encrypted backup snapshots: may contain your information for up to 30 days after deletion, until the backup cycle overwrites them. They are not accessible outside a disaster recovery scenario.

Irreversibility

Deletion is permanent and not reversible. Once processed, we cannot restore your account, playlists, likes, comments, or history. If you have music published and want to keep it, download it first from your artist panel.

If you later want to use MÜSMART again, you will need to create a new account — starting from scratch.

Partial deletion

If you prefer to keep your account but delete specific data (for example, your listening history without losing your playlists), email us at contacto.musmart@gmail.com describing what you want deleted. Law 1581 grants you the right to selective rectification and erasure of data.
